Feasibility Analysis of Magnetic Float Level Gauge
A magnetic float level gauge can be selected, but specific optimization and adaptation are required:
Material Compatibility: A magnetic float level gauge made of 316L stainless steel is selected, meeting food-grade requirements
while possessing good high-temperature resistance and paraffin corrosion resistance, suitable for hot wax conditions up to 82℃.
Structural Optimization: A jacketed insulation device is installed on the level gauge, and steam is introduced to maintain the fluidity
of the medium, preventing paraffin crystallization from sticking to the wall and causing the float to become stuck; a high-buoyancy
float and a large-diameter main pipe are selected, with the float density 0.1-0.2 g/cm³ higher than that of paraffin, ensuring smooth
rise and fall of the float in paraffin with a viscosity of 4-7 mPa·s.
Functional Matching: A model with a main unit remote transmission and alarm switch is selected, enabling 24V signal output to the
PLC, meeting the monitoring requirements for high and low liquid levels (35cm, 10cm), with an accuracy of ±10mm, which meets the
liquid level control requirements of a 76-liter small storage tank. Alternative Solution: Radar Level Gauge
For more stable measurement results, an 80G frequency-modulated radar level gauge can be selected:
Performance Advantages: Non-contact measurement, unaffected by paraffin viscosity or surface fluctuations, strong anti-interference
capability, and better measurement accuracy and stability; automatically controls false echoes, suitable for conditions with foam or
impurities.
Compatibility: Supports 24V power supply, can output 4-20mA signal to PLC; 316 stainless steel material meets food-grade requirements
and high-temperature operating conditions; during installation, avoid obstructions such as agitators within the storage tank.
Flow Meter Selection Scheme
For the CYB3-3Y rotor pump conveying 82℃ paraffin, the following flow meter is recommended:
Polygonal Volumetric Flow Meter
Reason for Selection: Paraffin viscosity is 4-7 mPa·s, belonging to medium viscosity media. Polygonal volumetric flow meters offer
high accuracy and a large range ratio, suitable for accurately measuring the flow rate of this type of medium.
Parameter Requirements: Made of 316 stainless steel, meeting food-grade requirements and high-temperature operating conditions;
measuring range of 36 liters/minute, outputting a 4-20mA signal, compatible with PLC systems; possesses excellent vibration and
electromagnetic interference resistance, ensuring measurement stability.
Electromagnetic Flowmeter (Optional)If the paraffin contains a small amount of conductive impurities, an electromagnetic flowmeter
can also be selected:
Reasons for Selection: No pressure loss, high measurement accuracy, fast response speed, suitable for real-time flow monitoring.
Parameter Requirements:Uses 316 stainless steel electrodes and lining, high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance;
measuring range of 36 liters/minute, outputting a 4-20mA signal, meeting PLC connection requirements.
