1. Media Characteristics and Pump Compatibility


Media Solidification Issues


Furan resin will solidify when exposed to air, requiring a pump with strong self-priming capabilities and low residual volume. Diaphragm

 pumps achieve leak-free transportation through the reciprocating motion of the diaphragm, effectively reducing media residue and the

 risk of solidification. The PTFE diaphragm of the recommended model J1M-180/0.5 is chemically resistant and has a smooth surface, further

 minimizing media adhesion.


Viscosity and Flowability


Furan resin has a form similar to gasoline, with a low viscosity and low sensitivity to pump shear forces. Diaphragm pumps are driven by

 air pressure or an electric motor, eliminating the need for high-speed rotating parts and avoiding media denaturation due to shear, making 

them suitable for transporting low-viscosity fluids.

 medium contains chloride ions or is exposed to long-term humidity, upgrading to 316L stainless steel is recommended for enhanced

 corrosion resistance.


Diaphragm Material

PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene): Excellent chemical stability, resistant to furan resin, acids, alkalis, and organic solvents. Its smooth surface

 resists adhesion to media, making it suitable for condensate-prone fluids. Ensure the diaphragm thickness (typically 0.5-1.5mm) is sufficient

 for frequent start-stop operations.


Seals

If the recommended model does not specify a seal material, fluororubber (FKM) or PTFE-coated rubber is recommended to accommodate

 the chemical properties of furan resin.


IV. Motor and Drive Optimization

Motor Power

A 0.55kW motor can meet flow requirements of 180L/h, but ensure frequent starts and stops or long operating times. If the load factor is

 below 40%, consider reducing the power to 0.37kW for energy savings.


Protection Rating

IP55 protection provides dust and water resistance, suitable for general industrial environments. If the pump is installed outdoors or in a 

humid area, upgrading to IP65 is recommended.

Recommended Model Compatibility
