Clamp-on liquid flow meter is a flow measurement device that can be installed without cutting the pipe or stopping work. It realizes 

non-invasive flow monitoring through ultrasonic technology and is widely used in industrial, municipal and environmental protection fields. 

The following is an analysis of technical principles, core advantages, application scenarios and selection recommendations:


1. Technical principles

Ultrasonic time difference method

By measuring the propagation time difference of downstream and upstream ultrasonic waves, the flow rate is calculated in combination 

with pipeline parameters. For example, a certain model of flow meter can measure water flow in a DN50 pipe with an accuracy of ±1% 

and a repeatability of 0.15%.

Doppler effect method

Applicable to liquids containing bubbles or particles (such as sewage and mud), and the flow rate is calculated by analyzing the change

 in the frequency of the reflected wave. A certain model can measure liquids with a suspended solids concentration of ≥50mg/L with an

 accuracy of ±2%.

Non-invasive installation

No need to cut the pipe or stop work, directly clamp it on the outer wall of the pipe, the installation time is shortened to 1-2 hours, and

 the maintenance cost is reduced.

Wide application range

Pipe diameter: supports DN6-DN6000mm pipes, covering small-diameter laboratory pipes to large-diameter industrial pipelines.

Media: compatible with a variety of liquids such as water, oil, and chemicals. Some models can measure high-temperature

The accuracy is usually ±1%-±2%, the repeatability is better than 0.2%, and the long-term stability is high. For example, after a certain

 model has been running continuously for 1000 hours, the error drift is ≤0.3%.

Supports 4-20mA, pulse, RS485, HART and other signal outputs, which can be integrated into DCS or PLC systems for remote monitoring
