Selection of seawater turbine flow meter
Customer requirements
Flow range: 30-300m ³/h
Pressure: 4MPa
Connection method: American standard flange 300 pounds
Temperature range: -20 ℃ to 120 ℃
Material requirement: 316 stainless steel (resistant to seawater corrosion)
Power supply method: Battery powered (wireless or low-power demand)
Medium: seawater (highly corrosive)
Recommended model and parameter matching
Model: CX-LTFM-150-304-P-D-F
Parameter matching:
Flow range: 30-300m ³/h (fully covering demand)
Pressure rating: 4MPa (meets requirements)
Flange standard: American standard 300 pounds (compatible with customer interfaces)
Temperature range: -20 ℃ to 120 ℃ (suitable for extreme environments)
Material: 316 stainless steel (basic corrosion resistance)
Power supply: Battery powered (meets wireless or portable needs)
Key issues and risk warnings
Corrosive effects of seawater:
316 stainless steel has limited corrosion resistance in seawater, and long-term use may lead to:
Wear or jamming of turbine blades
Corrosion of sensor electrodes (if it is electromagnetic, but turbine flow meters usually do not have this problem)
Failure of flange or shell sealing
Suggestion:
Clearly inform customers of the feasibility of short-term use (such as several months) and the need for regular maintenance or
replacement for long-term use.
If the customer's budget allows, more corrosion-resistant materials can be recommended (such as duplex steel 2205, Hastelloy C-276),
but the cost will significantly increase.
Limitations of battery power supply:
It is necessary to confirm whether the battery life meets the customer's usage cycle (such as whether frequent battery replacement is required).
If the customer needs long-term monitoring, it is recommended to use an external power source or solar power supply solution.
Selection optimization suggestions
Material upgrade:
If the customer accepts higher costs, it is recommended to use duplex steel 2205 or Hastelloy C-276, which significantly extends the
service life.
Protective measures:
Add coatings (such as epoxy resin) or cathodic protection to slow down the corrosion rate.
Regular maintenance plan:
It is recommended that customers check the status of the flow meter every 3-6 months, clean sediment or replace seals.
