Sewage external clamp flowmeter
In response to the customer's demand for sewage external clamp flowmeter, combined with its measurement medium, temperature range,
accuracy and other parameters, it is recommended that wall mounted ultrasonic flowmeter is a reasonable and technically advantageous
choice. The following is a specific analysis:
1、 Technical parameter matching analysis
Measurement medium and temperature range
The customer requests to measure uniform liquids such as water, seawater, and sewage, with a medium temperature range of -30 ℃~150 ℃
(some models can reach -40 ℃~160 ℃).
The recommended wall mounted ultrasonic flowmeter high-temperature type can withstand 150-160 ℃ for a short time and work stably at
120-130 ℃ for a long time, fully covering customer needs.
Regarding the impurity content in sewage, the flowmeter requires impurities not to exceed 5%, and the customer needs to confirm the actual
composition of the sewage. If the impurities exceed the standard, it is recommended to install a filter or choose a pollution resistant sensor.
Measurement accuracy and pipe diameter range
The customer requires an accuracy of ± 1.0%, with a wall mounted ultrasonic flowmeter linearity of better than 0.5%, repeatability accuracy of
better than 0.2%, and measurement accuracy of better than ± 1%, meeting the requirements.
The customer's applicable pipe diameter is DN15mm~DN6000mm, and the recommended model diameter range is DN15~DN1000, covering
small and medium-sized pipe diameter scenarios. If the customer needs to measure larger pipe diameters (such as DN1000 or above), a
large-diameter sensor option can be added.
Flow velocity range and bidirectional measurement
The customer requires a flow rate range of 0~± 32m/s (bidirectional flow). The wall mounted ultrasonic flowmeter supports bidirectional
measurement and can measure net flow. The flow rate range covers 0~± 30m/s, which is close to the upper limit of the customer's demand.
It is necessary to confirm whether the actual flow rate frequently approaches 32m/s. If it exceeds the limit, the sensor model needs to be
adjusted.
Output mode and power supply
The customer requires 4-20mA output, RS232/RS485 communication, pulse signal, relay output, etc. The recommended model comes standard
with 10-20mA output, RS485 communication, and relay pulse, fully compatible.
The power supply is AC220V, which is consistent with the customer's requirements.
Protection level and installation method
The customer requires a protection level of IP68 (able to withstand water immersion up to 3 meters), and the recommended model has a host
protection level of IP65. The sensor can reach IP68, meeting the requirements for water immersion.
The installation method is external clamp type, without damaging the pipeline, suitable for materials such as steel, stainless steel, PVC, etc.,
consistent with customer requirements. The demand for straight pipe sections (upstream ≥ 10D, downstream ≥ 5D) also meets the standards.
2、 Advantage comparison and selection suggestions
Advantages of non-contact measurement
Ultrasonic flow meters measure through external clamp type sensors, without the need to shut down or cut pipelines, and are easy to install,
especially suitable for the renovation of sewage pipelines that have already been put into operation.
Compared to electromagnetic flow meters, ultrasonic flow meters have no pressure loss and no requirements for medium conductivity, making
them more suitable for liquids containing impurities or corrosive substances.
Material and Durability
The recommended sensor material is stainless steel 304, suitable for seawater and general sewage environments. If customers require higher
corrosion resistance (such as 316 stainless steel or copper), they need to customize or choose other models.
It is necessary to regularly clean the inner wall of the pipeline (especially for seawater measurement) to avoid scaling or biological adhesion
affecting measurement accuracy.
Cost effectiveness and maintenance costs
The purchase cost of wall mounted ultrasonic flow meters is lower than that of high-precision electromagnetic flow meters, and the long-term
maintenance cost is lower (with no wear on moving parts).
If customers require trade settlement level accuracy (such as ± 0.5%), they can upgrade to high-precision models, but require an additional
budget.
Customized options
If the customer needs to expand to DN6000 pipe diameter or special materials (such as 316 stainless steel), separate cost accounting is required.
An integrated solution that supports multiple signal inputs (temperature, pressure, etc.) requires the addition of a data acquisition module.
