The gear metering dosing pump is a kind of equipment for conveying special liquids. With the development of science and technology and the 

progress of the times, it has been widely used by people. But now the metering pumps on the market have different prices, various types,

1. Determining the pressure: The rated pressure of the selected metering pump should be higher than the required actual pressure, 

generally about 10%-20% higher, and it should not be too high, otherwise it will cause energy waste and increase equipment investment

 and operating costs.

2. Determine the material of the pump head (fluid end): After the specific model and specification of the metering pump are determined,

 it is very important to select the material of the flow part according to the properties of the flow medium. If the choice is not appropriate, 

the medium will corrode and damage the flow parts or the medium will leak and pollute the system. In severe cases, it may cause major 

accidents.

3. Determine the flow rate: The selected gear metering pump flow rate should be equal to or slightly greater than the flow rate required 

by the process. Considering economical and practicality, it is recommended that the actual required flow rate of the metering pump be 

selected between 70% and 90% of the rated flow rate of the metering pump.

4. Other aspects: When selecting a metering pump, it is also necessary to consider the accuracy level of the required metering pump. 

The higher the accuracy level, the greater the investment. The working temperature of the metering pump is generally between -30 

and 100°C, and the working temperature range of the special metering pump is wider (such as a high-temperature liquid metering pump

 with an insulating jacket, whose delivery temperature can reach 500°C). For the particle size of the medium, it is required to be less 

than 0.1mm. For the medium larger than 0.1mm, the flow structure of the pump can be changed in a targeted manner to meet the needs. 

For the viscosity of the medium, it should generally be 0~1000mm/s, and the special gear metering pump can reach 6000mm²/s.
