High-Temperature Circulation Pump Selection


I. Pump Parameter Compatibility Verification

The technical parameters of this ISW200-500(I)A horizontal centrifugal pump generally match user requirements:


Flow rate: 389 m³/h (meets ≥389 m³/h requirements)

Head: 68 m (higher than the design value of 55 m, requiring verification of the system resistance curve)

Power: 110 kW (compatible with AC 380 V/50 Hz power supply)

Pressure capacity: 1.6 MPa (meets the system's maximum pressure requirements)

Temperature adaptability: The cast iron pump body with mechanical seal can withstand short-term 110°C hot water, but long-term 

Thermal deformation risk assessment is required during operation.


II. Reliability Assessment of Key Components

Material Selection


Cast iron pump heads and impellers can be used for short periods of time in clean water at 110°C. However, for long-term operation,

 the following precautions should be taken:

Cast iron is susceptible to oxidation corrosion at high temperatures (regular wall thickness testing is recommended).

If the medium contains chloride ions (such as cooling water), upgrade to 316L stainless steel is required.


Sealing System


The specific configuration of the mechanical seal must be confirmed:

The material of the moving ring should be ≥ silicon carbide (SiC).

Alumina ceramic is recommended for the stationary ring.

A rapid cooling device is required (110°C is close to the mechanical seal's maximum temperature limit).


III. System Compatibility Recommendations


NPSH Verification


Calculate the ratio of NPSHa (effective NPSH of the device) to NPSHr (required NPSH of the pump) to ensure NPSHa ≥ 1.3 NPSHr.


2. Piping Optimization


It is recommended to install a slow-closing check valve at the pump outlet (to prevent water hammer). A flow balancing valve is required

 for parallel operation.


3. Energy Efficiency Improvement


This pump has an efficiency of approximately 85%. If the system flow fluctuates significantly, it is recommended to install a frequency 

converter (VFD) (which can save 20%-30%).
