Selection of Brine Solution Pressure Transmitters
Selecting a smart pressure transmitter requires comprehensive consideration of measurement parameters, environmental conditions,
and system compatibility. For your industrial application requirements (25% brine solution, high temperature, corrosive media, IP66
protection, etc.), the following are precise matching suggestions based on technical specifications:
Core Parameter Matching Analysis
Measurement Range and Span Selection:For a measurement pressure of 7 bar, it is recommended to select a transmitter with a
range of 10-15 bar. This ensures the working pressure is within 1/3 to 2/3 of the range to improve accuracy and extend service life.
Simultaneously, allow for 1.5 times overpressure protection capability, meaning the device should be able to withstand at least 10.5 bar
of instantaneous overpressure without affecting calibration or zero-point stability.
Accuracy and Error Control:The required accuracy is ±0.1% of full scale, with a maximum total error not exceeding ±0.5%.
Currently, mainstream intelligent pressure transmitters, such as those using single-crystal silicon sensing technology (e.g., the Micron
MDM7000 series) or Endress+Hauser Cerabar PMP71B), offer a basic accuracy of ±0.05% to ±0.1%, meeting requirements.
Repeatability of ±0.05% is also achievable in high-end products.
Output Signal and Power Supply: The output signal is a standard 4~20mA, and the power supply is 24V DC, a common industrial
configuration. A two-wire loop power supply design is recommended to save wiring costs and improve system integration. Ensure
the transmitter can operate stably within the 10.5~36V DC range to enhance resistance to power fluctuations.
Process Connection and Electrical Interface:
Process Connection: 1" FLG FR 150# (i.e., 1-inch flange, 150 lb class), must match ASME B16.5 standard flange size;
Electrical Connection: 1/2" NPT threaded interface, commonly used in explosion-proof and industrial field instruments. When
selecting, it is necessary to specify whether it is an internal or external thread. **Protection Rating and Environmental Adaptability:
IP66 protection rating is required, effectively preventing dust intrusion and strong water spray, suitable for outdoor or humid,
dusty chemical environments. Some models, such as HART communication smart transmitters, already come standard with IP67
rating, meeting or even exceeding the requirements.
Diaphragm Seal and Material Requirements:
Diaphragm type: Flush diaphragm seal, suitable for easily crystallizing, high-viscosity, or corrosive liquids, preventing clogging
of the pressure tapping line;
Diaphragm material: AISI 316L stainless steel + PTFE coating, providing excellent resistance to chloride ion corrosion, particularly
suitable for 25% brine solutions (containing Cl⁻);
Flange material: AISI 316 stainless steel, surface treatment must meet cleanroom process requirements to prevent pitting corrosion.
Temperature Resistance:Design temperature up to 180℃, requiring high-temperature resistant filling fluid (such as silicone oil)
and a heat dissipation structure. The Endershaus PMP71B supports operating temperatures up to 400°C (with diaphragm seal system),
fully covering this temperature range. It is recommended to specify "high temperature" or "with condensation bend" configuration
when selecting this model.
Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC): The error should be less than 1% of the range at a 470 MHz, 5W signal source. High-end
intelligent transmitters generally have good EMI/RFI immunity; for example, the 3051GP model has a drift of less than ±0.111%
of the range (20~1000MHz) at a 30V/m field strength, meeting the wireless interference protection requirements in industrial environments.
