Glue Gear Pump Control System Selection
Based on the customer's requirements for a glue pump control system, considering the glue viscosity, flow distribution, time control,
temperature and pressure range, and electrical requirements, we recommend a solution consisting of 1.2cc and 0.6cc magnetic drive
pumps with a 400W servo motor and a PLC control cabinet. The detailed analysis is as follows:
I. Core Requirements Analysis
Glue Characteristics
Viscosity: 11,000 cp (high viscosity medium). Wear- and corrosion-resistant pump materials are required to prevent clogging and leakage.
Temperature: 10-30°C (normal temperature range). No special heating or cooling devices are required.
Pressure: 1-4 bar (medium and low pressure range). The pump must meet pressure stability requirements.
Flow and Time Control
Glue A: 30 ml/min (0.5 ml/s)
Glue B: 60 ml/min (1 ml/s)
Dispensing Time: Mixing within 20 seconds. Precise control of pump start/stop and flow ratio is required.
Electrical Requirements: 220V single-phase power supply. A drive compatible with this voltage must be selected.
II. Recommended Solution: Magnetic Pump + Servo Motor + PLC Control Cabinet
1. Pump Type Selection: 1.2cc and 0.6cc Magnetic Pumps
Advantages of Magnetic Pumps:
Leak-Free: Suitable for viscous media such as glue, eliminating the risk of shaft seal leakage.
Corrosion Resistance: The pump body can be made of either fluoroplastic or stainless steel to suit the chemical properties of the glue.

0.6cc pump for glue A (30ml/min): 0.6cc/rev x 50 rev/min = 30ml/min. (Assuming a pump speed of 50 rpm; actual speed will depend on
motor speed control.)
2. Drive: 400W Servo Motor
Advantages of Servo Motors:
Precise Control: Speed adjustment via PLC enables precise flow ratio distribution (e.g., A:B = 1:2).
Quick Response: Starts, stops, and flow adjustments are completed within 20 seconds, meeting time requirements.
Energy Efficiency: 400W power adapts to the load requirements of 1.2cc and 0.6cc pumps, avoiding energy waste.
3. Control System: PLC Control Cabinet
Functions:
Flow Ratio Control: The flow ratio of glue A and glue B (1:2) is set via PLC programming.
Time Control: Distribution is completed within 20 seconds, and start and stop times can be set via the PLC.
Pressure Monitoring: An integrated pressure sensor provides real-time feedback on pump outlet pressure (1-4 bar).
Fault Alarms: Overload, undervoltage, and idling protection functions ensure stable system operation.
Electrical Compatibility: Supports 220V single-phase input to accommodate customer site conditions.
