Advantage:
(1) the derivation of the electromagnetic flowmeter is only proportional to the average velocity of the measured material, but has little relationship with the flow state (laminar flow or turbulence) under symmetrical distribution.Therefore, the measuring range of electromagnetic flowmeter is very wide, and its measuring range can reach 100:1, and some can even reach 1000:1 operating flow range.
(3) the inductor structure type of electromagnetic flowmeter is simple, and there are no movable parts in the test nozzle, nor any throttling parts that affect fluid flow.Therefore, the flow meter does not cause any additional pressure damage when the fluid passes through the flow meter
(2) the specification range of electromagnetic flowmeter for industrial use is very wide, ranging from several mm to several meters. In addition, there are 3m real flow calibration machines and equipment in China, which have established a foundation for the application and development trend of electromagnetic flowmeter.
Disadvantage:
It cannot be used to detect vapor, steam and vapor containing a large amount of vapor.
It can not be used to detect vapor materials with very low electrical conductivity, electromagnetic flowmeter can not detect petroleum products or organic solvents, etc.
It cannot be used to detect high-temperature substances.At present, it is restricted by the inner lining material and electrical insulation material of the testing tube of electromagnetic flowmeter for common industry.
Electromagnetic flowmeter is susceptible to external electromagnetic interference.Electromagnetic flowmeter has a wide range of applications, large scale instruments are used in water supply and drainage engineering, medium and small calibre is often used for high requirements and difficult measurement occasions.In order to ensure the use of electromagnetic flowmeter and precision requirements, electromagnetic flowmeter must be installed in the lowest point of the pipeline or the vertical section of the pipeline.
